1.Notes: This is a demonstration of Daenerys' conflicting ideas - she wants to burn the masters and their fleet to the ground, but she also strives to be loved by everyone. She only keeps one of the masters alive so he will spread good word about her to Meereen's citizens. Her intentions are good, but she doesn't realize that she can't burn cities to the ground and stay in everyone's good graces.Theme: Explored
Act I
2.Notes: Ramsay is a coward who hides behind men who are stronger than he is. He'll put everyone else's lives in danger except for his own, just for a title and status.
3.Notes: For almost the entirety of the show up to this point, Sansa is not taken seriously. The characters around her greatly underestimate her strength and intelligence, and in this scene, her own brother does as well. Sansa has lived with Ramsay and been abused by him, yet Jon still believes that he's the best one to predict Ramsay's battle strategies. Everything that Sansa says in this scene turns out to be true - The Starks don't have enough men, Ramsay will lure them into a trap, and Rickon will not come out of this alive.
4.Notes: Jon likes to be in control of things, and hates that Melisandre might go against his wishes and bring him back to life if he dies again. He doesn't understand why she's loyal to the Lord of Light, even though she's performed miracles because of it.
Act II
5.Notes: Ramsay has successfully lured Jon into a trap - exactly what Sansa predicted. Ramsay's smart and knows that family is of the utmost importance to Jon, so he created a trap that would be inescapable for him. Jon acts on impulse and goes against his better judgement, just out of pure rage, putting his entire army in incredible danger.Theme: Explored
6.Notes: The Stark army continues to do exactly what Ramsay wants.
Act III
7.Theme: Challenged
8.Notes: For the first time, we see Ramsay fearful for his life. He wasn't just outsmarted by a vengeful person he routinely abused, but one of the greatest swordsmen to ever live is heading directly towards him. Both Jon and Sansa have not just political motives to kill Ramsay, but personal ones, and in this moment, he realizes that they're not going to stop until he's dead. And in response, he flees.Theme: Explored
Act IV
9.Notes: Jon could've easily beaten Ramsay to death right then and there, but after seeing Sansa, he remembers that this isn't his revenge to take.
Act V or Tag
10.Notes: Sansa uses Ramsay's own ego against him - if he hadn't gloated about how his hounds were starving and ready to eat Jon, then Sansa wouldn't have killed him in such a gruesome manner. She takes this moment to tell him that his greatest fear - being unknown - will come true.Theme: Symbolized
